Mississippi Walmart hostage situation ends with suspect shot dead by police

Police in Mississippi on Wednesday said they shot and killed the suspect in a Walmart hostage situation, part of which was captured on video. 

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation told media that officers were involved in a hostage crisis at a Walmart in Richland on Wednesday evening. 

Law enforcement reportedly shot and killed the suspect in the incident. No other injuries were reported. 

Apparent footage of the crisis was circulating on social media on Thursday. 

A motive for the suspect's alleged actions has not yet been revealed.
