The Montgomery County Police Department said Monday that one person has been shot, and one person is in custody related to a shooting at the Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, Maryland.

Reports of shots fired surfaced at approximately 2:15 p.m. Eastern and the school remains in lockdown at the time of publishing.

The status of the victim was not immediately clear, but Montgomery police said the shooting occurred inside the high school. Details about the person in custody were also not immediately clear.
