Indiana State Police on Monday announced the arrest of a man in connection to the 2017 murders of Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14.

Despite several cold leads over the years, officials charged Richard Allen, 50, with two counts of murder and he is being held without bond in the White County Jail, officials said.

Days after the two girls were found dead on a hiking trail in Delphi, Indiana, on Feb. 14, 2017, police released two grainy images of the suspect taken on German's phone along with an audio recording of a man ordering the girls "down the hill."

The girls' bodies were found one day after German's sister dropped the girls off at the entrance of the trail.

Officials have not stated how the girls were killed nor how evidence was obtained in the case.
