Police arrest suspect in deadly Virginia hookah lounge shootings
The shootings prompted nearby Virginia Tech to issue a "secure in place" order to the campus community.
Authorities have arrested a suspect in Friday's deadly hookah lounge shooting near the Virginia Tech campus, police said.
The late-night incident unfolded shortly before midnight on Feb. 4, when a gunman opened fire at the Melody Hookah Lounge in Blacksburg, Va. Five people were shot, leaving one dead and four others wounded.
The suspect, Jamel Flint, on Saturday was "taken into custody in Roanoke, Virginia without incident," police said.
Flint is charged with first-degree murder, and faces additional charges, including four counts of attempted first-degree murder, police said.
The shootings prompted nearby Virginia Tech to issue a "secure in place" order to the campus community.
The school was the site of a mass shooting in April 2007, when senior Seung-Hui Cho, a student at the university, killed 32 people and injured 17 others before taking his own life.
