Police investigating after North Carolina college reports 'active shooter situation'
It is unclear whether anyone is injured.
The Winston-Salem Police Department in North Carolina is investigating reports of a shooting at Forsyth Tech Community College, where a shelter-in-place lockdown is still being enforced.
"We are experiencing an active shooter situation. Law enforcement is on site. The campus is on lockdown with shelter in place for all students, faculty and staff," the college posted on Twitter shortly before 11:30 a.m.
About 20 minutes later, Winston-Salem police said: "We can confirm there is no active shooter on the campus of Forsyth Tech. There is still an active investigation on the campus. There are no other threats to any other schools in the area."
The school said shelter-in-place protocols are still being enforced due to the investigation.
