Memorial Day shooting at beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Florida leaves 9 injured

Nine people were shot Monday evening on a crowded beach boardwalk in Hollywood, Fla., following an altercation between two groups.

At least three of the victims were minors, according to reports. All of the victims were transported to area hospitals, but their conditions are unknown.

A person of interest has been detained and police are searching for a second individual.

Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy said in a statement, "Thank you to the good Samaritans, paramedics, police and emergency room doctors and nurses for their immediate response to aid the victims of today's shooting."
