Mass shooting a graduation party in Maryland killing three, wounding six others wasn't 'random act'
Six people were shot in an Annapolis private home on Sunday night
The weekend shooting in Annapolis, Maryland, in which three people were killed and six were wounded appears to have been a target attack, authorities said Monday.
Annapolis Police Chief Edward Jackson said the incident at about 8 p.m. Sunday "wasn’t a random act of violence” and that it was likely an “interpersonal dispute.”
The shooting occurred at a graduation party at a private home, according to local TV station11 News.
The police said they have a person of interest in custody and at least one weapon.
Jackson also said all of the victims were males ranging in age from early-20s to about 50 years old.
“We are saddened, saddened for the family, saddened for Annapolis that we have to deal with things like this,” Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley said at the news conference after the incident, “These sorts of things can happen anywhere. Nothing gets resolved through the use of a gun.”
