Virginia police arrest suspected ‘Shopping Cart Killer’ in Fairfax County
Multiple victims have been found murdered in the area; chief says killer did "unspeakable" things.
Police in northern Virginia announced Friday the arrest of a suspect in the so-called “Shopping Cart Killer” murders but also said they are still searching for other victims.
Anthony Robinson, a 35-year-old Washington, D.C. resident, was taken into custody, just days after the remains of the fourth associated victim in the case were discovered.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis in a press conference called the killer "a predator, as all serial killers are.”
"It's our collective effort in law enforcement to do everything we can with each other and with the community to identify other places where he has been so we can bring closure and ultimately justice," Davis said.
The suspect was reportedly using dating websites to lure at least some victims to local motels before killing them.
