'Exit stage right,' Actor Scott Baio is leaving California, citing taxes, crime, homelessness
Baio said that there are no consequences for crime in California.
Hollywood actor Scott Baio says he's leaving California after more than four decades in the state – citing crime, high taxes and homelessness.
"After 45 years, I’m making my way to finally 'exit stage right' from California," Baio tweeted earlier this week.
The 62-year-old Baio was born in New York. He is most well known for playing Chachi on “Happy Days” and having the lead role in the TV show "Charles in Charge."
He argues unaddressed high crime and homelessness has resulted in high prices and "brings down property value."
"Also no consequences for crime that is rampant," also said Baio, who has previously expressed conservative views.
Some Twitter users are criticizing his most recent words and plans, calling him a "right wing shill" and saying he won't be missed in California.
Baio responded: "Maybe not, but [residents] will certainly miss the high taxes I pay!"
