Actress Raquel Welch died Wednesday at the age of 82.
A representative for the late actress told the New York Post that she had died early in the morning "after a brief illness" but did not elaborate further as to the cause of death.
"The 82 year-old actress burst into Hollywood in her initial roles in ['One Million Years B.C.'] and 'Fantastic Voyage,'" the representative's statement continued. "Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances."
In her final film appearance, she played Celeste Birch in 2017's "How to Be a Latin Lover." Many of her films and television appearances featured Welch scantily clad and played to her status as a sex symbol to her generation.
In her later years, she founded a line of signature wigs, HAIRuWEAR, that met with market success.
