American swimmer Katie Ledecky wins bronze in the 400-meter freestyle

Ledecky, 27, formerly held the record for the 400-meter freestyle and won a gold medal in 2016 and a silver medal in 2021.

American swimmer Katie Ledecky won the bronze medal in the women’s 400-meter freestyle race on Saturday at the Paris Olympics. 

Ledecky's time was 4:00.86. Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus won the gold medal with a time of 3:57.49. 

Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh came in second with 3:58.37.

Ledecky, 27, formerly held the record for the 400-meter freestyle and won a gold medal in 2016 and a silver medal in 2021, according to USA Today. 

In the past, Ledecky has won seven gold medals and three silver medals.
