Belichick out as New England Patriots head coach

Bill Belichick is out as head coach of the New England Patriots, according to multiple news sources Thursday. 

Sources told news outlets that Belichick and the Patriots came to a mutual agreement about his departure.

Belichick coached the NFL team for 24 seasons, winning six Super Bowls.

However, his success declined after future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady left the team several years ago. 

The Patriots' record this season under Belichick was 4-13.
