The Chicago White Sox have lost their 121st game of the season, breaking a 62-year-old MLB record.

The White Sox lost 4-1 against the Detroit Tigers on Friday night, according to NBC News.

The record for most losses in a season after 1900 had previously been held by the 1962 New York Mets at 120, which the Tigers threatened in 2003, ending the season with 119 losses, per the Associated Press. That remained the American League record until the White Sox's Friday loss.

Including teams before 1900, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders hold the record with 134 losses.

The White Sox have two more games in the season.
