Actor Andre Braugher died at the age of 61 on Tuesday following a short battle with an unspecified illness, publicist Jennifer Allen told CNN.
Braugher earned Emmys for his roles in "Homicide" and "Thief," and also achieved film acclaim for his role "The Court-Martial of Jackie Robinson." He attained breakout success in 1989's "Glory" playing Thomas Searles, a member of a black Union regiment during the Civil War.
