Oscar-nominated actor Tom Wilkinson dies at 75
Wilkinson won a Bafta for his work in "The Full Monty" and received Oscar nominations for "Michael Clayton" and "In the Bedroom."
British actor Tom Wilkinson, who was nominated twice for an Oscar, passed away on Saturday at age 75.
No cause of death has been given, according to Deadline.
“It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on December 30,” a statement from Wilkinson's agent reads, according to the outlet. “His wife and family were with him. The family asks for privacy at this time.”
Wilkinson won a Bafta for his work in "The Full Monty" and received Oscar nominations for "Michael Clayton" and "In the Bedroom."
He also starred in the 2011 thriller "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol," 1998’s "Shakespeare in Love" and Christopher Nolan’s 2005 "Batman Begins."
Tom Wilkinson also won an Emmy for playing Benjamin Franklin in a mini series titled "John Adams." He played President Lyndon B. Johnson in "Selma."
He is survived by his wife Diana Hardcastle and their two daughters.
