Powerball posts winning numbers after delay over 'technical' issues
Powerball cited "technical issues" for the initial delay Monday evening.
The Powerball lottery announced the winning numbers for the record-breaking $2.04 billion jackpot on Tuesday after initially stating the results would be delayed because one state needed extra time to process ticket sales.
The winning numbers are 10, 33, 41, 47 and 56.
Powerball cited "technical issues" for the delay Monday evening, but did not name the state.
"The draw is still set to go ahead as soon as the necessary security protocols have been completed," Powerball said at the time.
Nobody had won the Powerball lottery over the past 40 drawings, since August 3, allowing the jackpot to continue growing. Tickets are sold in 45 states, D.C., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The cash option for the latest jackpot is more than $925 million, or the winner could take payouts over 29 years.
