The Rolling Stones are reportedly recording a new album featuring surviving Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Recording sessions were held in Los Angeles over the past several weeks, multiple sources familiar with the project told the entertainment news outlet Variety on Tuesday.

McCartney has already recorded bass parts for the album, and it is unclear which songs will be on the final cut or whether both former Beatles would be on the same track.

The set is likely to also include tracks featuring Rolling Stones' founding drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away in 2021. Frontman Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards said that year Watts had recorded his parts for some songs before he died.

The upcoming album would be the Rolling Stones' first original record since 2005.
