The War Department said Thursday that the United States' Air Force and Navy will conduct a "super" flyover during the Super Bowl next month in honor of America's 250th birthday.

The Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX, which will take place on Feb. 8 at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

The department said the joint flyover will consist of two Air Force B-1 Lancers, two Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles, alongside a pair of Navy F/A-18E Super Hornets and two F-35C Lightning IIs.

"At one of the most-watched events in the world, the flyover will be a visible reminder that America's military remains united, ready and dominant — 250 years strong," the department said in a news release.

A joint Armed Forces Color Guard from Washington, D.C., will also render military honors during the national anthem at the Super Bowl.
