US job openings increased in February: report
The most job openings increased in the departments of finance, entertainment, local government and recreation.
Job openings and layoffs in the United States both increased in February, according to report Tuesday from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
There were roughly 8.8 million job openings in February, the BLS announced. This is an increase from reported 8.74 million openings in January.
In the same month, layoffs increased to 1.72 million, from 1.6 million, according to CNN.
The most job openings increased in finance, entertainment, local government and recreation.
The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report, from the Labor Department stated that there were 1.36 vacancies for every unemployed individual in February, according to Reuters.
This is a decrease from 1.43 in January.
