Eight students arrested in connection with brawl at Virginia high school

Officials in Spotsylvania County, Va., said nearly 10 students were arrested in connection with a brawl at a high school in which one was sent to the hospital. 

The fight at Riverbend High School, in the city of Fredericksburg, involved teens 14 to 17. Eight of them were taken into police custody. 

Video of the chaotic scene circulated on social media, showing students punching one other as teachers struggle to break up the scraps. 

In addition to the police charges, Spotsylvania County Public Schools said in a statement that "appropriate disciplinary action on the school level is being taken with those involved in the incident."
