Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk confirmed Tuesday night that she skipped a highly anticipated event in Georgia at her security's team recommendation because of serious threats that were lodged against her.

Kirk, the wife of late-Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, was slated to appear with Vice President JD Vance at the University of Georgia as part of her organization's campus tour.

"I was so looking forward to tonight’s event at the [University of Georgia] with our Vice President JD Vance, but after all our family has been through, I take my security team’s recommendations extremely seriously," Kirk posted on X. "Thank you to our amazing Georgia chapter for your support. God bless you all."

Details on the threats were not immediately clear but Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet stepped in for Kirk at the event, stating she received "some very serious threats in her direction," which prompted her absence. Kirk was expected to interview Vance.

The vice president confirmed that he heard about the threats and understood that Kirk needed to protect her family.

“Everybody is attacking her over everything, and they’re lying about her, and it’s one of the most disgraceful things that I’ve ever seen in public life,” Vance said. “The people telling you that Erika wasn’t grieving her husband are full of s***.

"If your instinct is to go after a young mother because she's grieving in a way that you find 'wrong?' Well, why don't you stay in your lane and mind your own business? Grief is complicated," he added.

Kirk took over her late-husband's Turning Point USA foundation as CEO and chair after he was fatally shot at a rally in Utah last September, but some critics have heavily attacked the widow on social media since the shooting.

The widow admitted in December that she reached a breaking point regarding conspiracy theories over her husband's death and claimed that threatening her family, including her TPUSA family, was "not healthy" and a "mind virus."

President Donald Trump suggested Kirk should sue her critics over their comments during an Easter lunch earlier this month.
