1 dead, 8 injured in stampede at New York concert featuring GloRilla
The deceased victim has been identified as a 33-year-old woman and officials said two other people are in critical condition.
A female concert-goer was killed and eight others were injured at a show Sunday night in Rochester, N.Y., featuring female rapper GlorRilla, as the result of a rush toward the exit after what sounded like gunshots, officials said.
Police found "no evidence to support a shooting having occurred" Sunday in the rap concert featuring GloRilla and Finesse2tymes, Rochester police Lt. Nicholas Adams said, according to the Associated Press.
The deceased victim has been identified only as a 33-year-old female, and officials say two of injured are in critical condition.
"The injuries appear to be as a result of a large crowd pushing toward the exits following accounts of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots," Adams said.
Law enforcement is expected to hold a briefing Monday morning about the incident.
GloRilla's 2022 song "F.N.F. (Let's Go)" was nominated for the best rap performance Grammy.
