The electric truck company Terraline Trucks is expected to create 30 jobs in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.

A news release from the Arizona Commerce Authority noted that the jobs are "skilled engineering" roles for the plant intended for batteries.

“Arizona has welcomed Terraline with open arms,” Graham Doorley, Founder and CEO of Terraline, said in a statement. “Their business-friendly environment, exceptional engineering talent, and reduced operations costs made moving to Arizona from California an easy choice. I especially want to thank the ACA for their continued support of Terraline.”

Several other vehicle companies including Lucid Motors and Magna have set up shop in Arizona as the state continues to woo businesses with tax incentives and a strong business climate. The announcement comes as there is a significant effort underway by the state government to ramp up the number of apprenticeships in fields ranging from construction to semiconductor operations, as there is concern that there will not be enough skilled workers to meet the demand across sectors.

“Terraline’s new engineering headquarters is an exciting addition to Arizona’s growing electric vehicle industry,” Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, said in a statement.

“The new facility showcases Arizona’s attractiveness as a destination for cutting-edge innovations and startups. We’ve been proud to work with Graham Doorley and the Terraline team for the past two years and are incredibly excited to see their operations take off," Watson continued.

The Center Square previously reported that Maricopa County is considered one of the locations in the country for economic growth.
