More than 120,000 Texans are without power after the same storm that brought snow to California several days ago are now brining hail, tornadoes and strong winds to the eastern and southern parts of the country.

Almost 80 million people from Texas all the way to Pennsylvania are under high-wind alerts.

Among the hardest hit by the high winds and other storm-related problems are Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Isolated tornadoes are expected to hit Ohio and central Georgia, CNN reports.

The National Weather service says as the storms continues northward, they will produce heavy snow from the upper Midwest through New England on Friday and Saturday.

“Significant sleet and freezing rain is possible just south of the heaviest snow," the agency also said.

Part of New York and New England could get as much as one foot of snow.
