Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee is praising his daughter, current Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, for her leadership in the aftermath of the tornadoes that hit their home state.

"I've been so proud watching her as she goes through neighborhoods, giving people handshakes, hugs and a whole lot of help," Huckabee told the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "She's marshal of the resources of the National Guard, the State Police Department of Emergency Services, and is doing everything that an elected official is supposed to do and can do."

Tornadoes swept through the midwest over the weekend, hitting several states, including Arkansas. Five people died and property damage was significant.

Huckabee argues the Biden administration lacks leadership when it comes to devastating events, specifically in its response to the Feb. 2 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, in which toxic chemicals were spewed into the environment.

"From my experience, until you walk in those neighborhoods and you look those folks in the eye, you really can't comprehend the impact," he stated. "That's why it was so important that Joe Biden go to East Palestine even though he never has."

Huckabee also called out Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for also not showing leadership to the people in Ohio.

"Buttigieg should have gone long before two and a half weeks before he even made it and showed up to see what was going on and then spent very little time," he continued. "It's called leadership. It's something that people ought to exercise in moments like this because that's what you get elected to do."
