A record-breaking roller coaster in North Carolina's Carowinds amusement park is temporarily closed after a visitor spotted a crack in a support pillar.

Fury 325, billed by Carowinds as the "tallest, fastest, longest giga coaster in North America," will remain closed until the park inspects and repairs it, officials said.

A giga coaster is defined as a "complete circuit roller coaster between 300 feet and 399 feet in height or with a drop within those boundaries," according to coasterpedia.net.

Visitor Jeremy Wagner posted photos and a video of the crack Friday on Facebook. In one video, the cracked pillar moves slightly as the coaster train even goes over the track above it.

"I HOPE THEY SHUT THIS RIDE DOWN AFTER I REPORTED THIS VIDEO AT GUEST SERVICES!!!  IT MOVES 2-4 FEET! IT WAS STILL RUNNING WHEN WE LEFT!" Wagner wrote in all capital letters as a caption.

"Carowinds closed Fury 325 after park personnel became aware of a crack at the top of a steel support pillar," a spokesperson for Carowinds told Fox News Digital. "The park’s maintenance team is conducting a thorough inspection and the ride will remain closed until repairs have been completed. Safety is our top priority and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our valued guests during this process."

The 325-foot tall coaster crosses both the North and South Carolina state lines and has a maximum speed of 95 mph.
