Superintendent in Virginia's Loudoun Co alerted school board day of assault in gender fluid bathroom
Victim's father says daughter's attacker was a male student wearing a skirt
The superintendent of Loudoun County Public Schools sent a confidential email to school board members on May 28, the same day a female high school student said she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom.
The email was first reported by WTOP News, which was given a copy of the electronic message in which Superintendent Scott Ziegler alerted board members that the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was investigating the alleged incident at Stone Bridge High School.
The email provides only some specifics of the incident, including the alleged attacker was a male student, and informs members the parents of the alleged victim apparently came to the school in response to the incident, causing a disruption with "threatening and profane language."
The board is often notified of major incidents at schools, but rarely given the specifics or told about who is involved because the board may be involved in student disciplinary actions, also according to WTOP.
The victim's father alleges the male attacker was wearing a skirt and was arrested for disorderly conduct during a June 22 school board meeting in which he alleged the school district tried to cover up the assault to protect its transgender rights agenda.
Ziegler apologized last week for the school system’s response to recent sexual assaults by students and outlined steps he said would improve the system going forward.
The May 28 assault was not made public until the victim's father told the Daily Wire that the same 15-year-old charged in his daughter's attack was later charged with groping a different girl Oct. 6 at Broad Run High School.
Loudoun County Commonwealth’s Attorney Buta Biberaj told WTOP that the same 15-year-old charged in both crimes. Biberaj said the boy was on pretrial electronic monitoring for the May 28 sexual assault when he was charged with sexual battery and abduction for the October incident. He is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center.
