The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Wednesday announced that the latest Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations had apprehended convicted drug traffickers, sex offenders, and kidnappers.

The latest roundup is part of DHS's "Worst of the Worst" initiative, which aims to highlight the criminal nature of many of the illegal aliens the administration apprehends.

“Yesterday, ICE arrested more sexual assailants, kidnappers, drug traffickers, and other worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American communities,” acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement to Just the News.

“Nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the United States," she added. "While sanctuary politicians continue to release pedophiles, rapists, gang members, and murderers onto their streets, our brave law enforcement will continue to risk their lives to arrest these heinous criminals and make America safe again."

Under President Donald Trump, the DHS has sought to deport as many as 22 million illegal aliens. As of late June, ICE had deported nearly 1 million illegal aliens and facilitated roughly 2.2 million self-deportations.

Topping the Wednesday roundup was Willian Bueso-Orellana of Honduras, who was convicted of sexual assault.

Yung Ho Lo of China was convicted of kidnapping.

Bernardo Campusano-Abreu of the Dominican Republic was convicted for the sale and possession of cocaine and other drugs, possession of narcotics equipment, and threatening terroristic offenses.

Israel Chavez-Tamayo of Mexico was convicted of conspiracy to distribute meth, cocaine, and heroin.

Tresor Kamona of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was convicted for felony larceny.
