Biggs: If McCarthy wants speakership, he'll need to be 'far more tough'
Rep. Andy Biggs, discusses Arizona’s election results, his predictions on the outcome of the big races for the Senate and Governor, and discusses Kevin McCarthy bid to become the next Speaker of the House. Biggs comments that Republicans need to push back against the status quo, that there is already talk "about how we can become kinder, gentler, and work better. And I think that's that's the pre-2016 status quo that so many Republicans rejected in the election of 2016." Commenting, "we have to have that very frank discussion. Going forward, I don't know who's going to end up being the leader. But if it's Kevin McCarthy, he's going to have to be far more a little far more tough than he has necessarily shown. He's picked his battles, but I think Americans want us to actually bring the budget under control, they wanted to secure the border, they want us to just find a way to reduce oil and gas prices, attack inflation, all of that. And you can't do that by being a passive sideliner or sitting there acquiescing to the Biden administration or trying to get along, you're going to have to be tough."
