Bitcoin being used as tool for freedom by ‘people suffering from tyrannical leaders’ says human rights activist

Fadi Elsalameen, Bitcoin Policy Institute Fellow and human rights activist, discusses example of bitcoin being essential and important tool by “people suffering from dictators and tyrannical leaders” seeking freedom. Elsalameen describes one example about women in Afghanistan, “who are programming, who are creating incredible code for companies outside Afghanistan, but are fearful for their lives,” as “they don't want the Taliban to know that they are working, they're afraid of the Taliban, seizing their bank accounts or seizing their money, the only way they're getting paid today is via Bitcoin.”
