Gelet Fragela, Editor of new conservative latino news site, “ADN America” and Cuban Political Refugee, discusses the launching of her bilingual news organization, geared towards giving Hispanic-Americans across the country breaking news, amid the population becoming the fastest “growing electoral influence” in the United States. Fragela explains that one of her motivations behind creating, ADN America, was due to being an immigrant. Fragela comments that ‘many who have escaped communism, come to this country looking for a better life, they share common values that are enshrined in the US Constitution’. She says ‘that no matter how different we are, where we come from, our heritage, those values are the moral fabric’ of ‘what holds us together’. She comments that these are the values, the mainsteam media is trying to change and, is why she created ADN America, ‘to inform people to have honest conversations, to spark real debate’, and create ‘a site that allows those underrepresented stories to have a place to live’.
