Al Green vows to bring impeachment articles against Trump before end of 2025

Though the measure is unlikely to clear the Republican-led House, it appears to signal that Democrats will follow through on their plans of a third impeachment effort, especially should they take the lower chambers in 2026.

Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, this week promised to bring articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump before the end of 2025.

Trump is the only president to have ever been impeached twice, though he was acquitted by the Senate in both instances. Green did not specify how many articles he planned to bring.

“We will bring those articles of impeachment to the floor as a privileged resolution. And there will be a vote on them. And then let the chips fall where they may," he told reporters.

Though the measure is unlikely to clear the Republican-led House, it appears to signal that Democrats will follow through on their plans for a third impeachment effort, especially should they take the lower chambers in 2026.
