Former Obama supporter Bill Ackman endorses Trump hours after assassination attempt

Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman announced his support in a tweet criticizing the "mainstream media."

Billionaire hedge fund manager and former Obama/Biden supporter Bill Ackman threw his weight behind former President Donald Trump for the 2024 election. The endorsement came in a tweet a few hours after the attempt on Trump's life.

The Washington Examiner reported on the endorsement and Ackman's recent criticism of President Joe Biden. 

"I am going to formally endorse @realDonaldTrump," Ackman wrote.

Ackman then took the "mainstream media" to task for its purported bias.

"Remember, media organizations are like sports teams that run plays chosen by their owners and executed by the coaches they hire. They are not unbiased arbiters of the truth."

Ackman's endorsement tweet encouraged readers to "keep an open mind on the upcoming presidential election." He cautioned that the mainstream media may have tainted perceptions of Trump.
