Hearing set by Judge Tanya Chutkan in Trump election interference case

A hearing has been set for August 16 by Judge Tanya Chutkan in former President Donald Trump’s federal election interference case.
The order was filed Saturday for a status conference on the case that was impacted by the Supreme Court decision in July that allowed partial immunity for former presidents, according to The Hill.
The parties will file a status report by Aug. 9 proposing a possible schedule for moving forward.
“If necessary, the parties may explain any disagreements in separate sections of the report,” Chutkan said. The case is not expected to get to trial before the presidential election in November.
