Rep. Liz Cheney says she won't support Trump if he's the 2024 presidential nominee
Cheney, the House Republican Conference Chair, was one of only 10 House GOP lawmakers to vote in favor of impeaching then-President Trump earlier this year in the wake of the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol by rioters.
Rep. Liz Cheney on Wednesday said that if former President Donald Trump becomes the 2024 presidential nominee she will not support his candidacy.
"I would not," the Wyoming Republican responded after television host Neil Cavuto asked Cheney the hypothetical question during an interview on the Fox News Channel.
Cheney, the House Republican Conference Chair, was one of only 10 House GOP lawmakers to vote in favor of impeaching then-President Trump earlier this year in the wake of the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol by rioters.
Cheney said she has been transparent about her opinions regarding "the president's culpability" and that Trump was guilty of "the gravest violation of an oath of office by any president in American history."
