Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Standard, Will Witt, says that former President Trump's jab at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was a joke and it won't affect Republicans at the polls.

The 45th President of the United States made headlines recently for giving the Florida governor the nickname "Ron DeSanctimonious" at a rally.

"I think everyone needs to stop being a bunch of babies and understand this is how Trump is," Will Witt said on the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "He makes fun of people. He makes jokes sometimes. I mean, if Trump saw his best friends, he probably would rip them and make jokes about them too."

Witt says he does not believe there is any bad blood or tension between Gov. Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump.

"I personally don't think there's that level of ill will or bad blood between them," Witt stated. "I really don't think it's a big deal. The biggest deal that people are talking about is like, 'Oh, why are you creating this division right before the election?' No one's gonna not vote for DeSantis because of what Trump said the other day."

According to Witt, DeSantis is going to get a lot of votes from not just Republicans, but from Democrats and independents due to his incredible track record as governor.

"Every single Floridian who's a Republican conservative, and a lot of independents and Democrats who have seen what he's done are still going to come out and vote for Ron," Witt said.
