Trump blasts Kamala's 'new southern accent' after remarks on her racial identity
"Did you hear a new accent? If I ever did that... I'd have a week of Hell if I ever tried to do that," he said.
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening mocked Vice President Kamala Harris for faking a southern accent during a Tuesday event in Atlanta, Ga.
"Her speech in Atlanta last night, Kamala Harris even tried out a brand new southern accent," Trump said during a rally in Harrisburg, Pa. "Did you hear a new accent? If I ever did that... I'd have a week of Hell if I ever tried to do that."
"The contrast could not be more stark. On the one hand, you have a radical left puppet candidate who is fake, fake, fake, and on the other hand, You have a president who will fight, fight for America," he added.
During Harris's rally, she spoke to a Georgian crowd and briefly attempted to imitate the local way of talking.
"You all helped us win in 2020, and we gon' do it again in 2024," Harris remarked during her event, while affecting the local dialect.

Earlier on Wednesday, Trump suggested that Harris had only recently started identifying as a black woman and that she had previously emphasized her Indian heritage. The vice president is the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants.
“I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black and now she wants to be known as Black," Trump said at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) convention. "So, I don’t know, is she Indian or is she Black?”
