Trump campaign announces $130 million fundraising haul for August
The Trump campaign said approximately 98% of the donations it received in August were for $200 or less, and the average amount was $56.
Former President Donald Trump's presidential campaign on Wednesday revealed that they raised $130 million in the month of August, which gave them $295 million in cash on hand heading into the last two months of the election.
The number is just under the $138 million the campaign raised in July, but is notably more than the $76 million it and the RNC raised in April.
Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris's campaign has not officially announced how much the vice president has raised so far, but a memo over the weekend claimed she has raised $540 million since President Joe Biden dropped out in June, according to The Hill.
The Trump campaign said approximately 98% of the donations it received in August were for $200 or less, and the average amount was $56.
“With Republicans united and a growing number of Independents and disaffected Democrats crossing partisan lines, the Trump-Vance campaign has momentum for the final stretch of the race,” senior Trump campaign adviser Brian Hughes said in a statement.
“These fundraising numbers from August are a reflection of that movement and will propel President Trump’s America First movement back to the White House so we can undo the terrible failures of Harris and Biden," he added.
