Trump challenges Biden to debates, even if run by 'Corrupt DNC'
"It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People," he posted.
Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday challenged President Joe Biden to debate him during the 2024 presidential race, contending that he would be willing to participate in such events even should they be hosted by adversarial parties.
"It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People," he posted. "Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"
Trump did not participate in any of the Republican National Committee's primary debates, a move he attributed to his considerable polling lead. Biden, for his part, also faced primary challengers, but the Democratic National Committee did not hold any debates at all.
The RNC in 2022 withdrew from the Commission on Presidential Debates, citing alleged bias from the panel.
"The Commission on Presidential Debates is biased and has refused to enact simple and commonsense reforms to help ensure fair debates including hosting debates before voting begins and selecting moderators who have never worked for candidates on the debate stage," RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said at the time.
