"We're going back to Butler, and we're gonna go back in October," he said. "We're all set up, and we're the people are fantastic. It's a big it's a great area."
Former President Donald Trump on Monday confirmed he would return to Butler, Pa., in October ahead of the presidential election.
The Pennsylvania town marked the site of an assassination attempt against him during a July 13 rally. He previously confirmed that he would return to the town at some point, but confirmed plans for an October event during an X space with platform owner Elon Musk.
"We're going back to Butler, and we're gonna go back in October," he said. "We're all set up, and we're the people are fantastic. It's a big it's a great area."
"These are incredible people, like the three that-- in the case of Corey [Comperatore] killed and the other two, the families are, I got to know him a little bit. And families are great," he went on. "But we're going back to Butler. And I think I'll probably start by saying, 'as I was saying.'"
During the exchange, Musk asked Trump what he had planned to discuss prior to being shot, to which Trump confirmed he would have mentioned illegal immigration numbers.
While Trump did not specify an exact date, an October date would position the event close to Election Day and likely serve as one of his final major media moments of the election cycle.
