Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Tuesday responded to special counsel Jack Smith's new indictment against him, stating it should be dismissed immediately.

"In an effort to resurrect a 'dead' Witch Hunt in Washington, D.C., in an act of desperation, and in order to save face, the illegally appointed 'Special Counsel' Deranged Jack Smith, has brought a ridiculous new Indictment against me, which has all the problems of the old Indictment, and should be dismissed IMMEDIATELY," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.

Smith on Tuesday filed a superseding indictment against Trump where he changed some of the charges to better reflect the Supreme Court's ruling on presidential immunity.

Trump said that this action by Smith is an attempt at election interference, as the presidential election is just months away.

"This is merely an attempt to INTERFERE WITH THE ELECTION, and distract the American People from the catastrophes Kamala Harris has inflicted on our Nation, like the Border Invasion, Migrant Crime, Rampant Inflation, the threat of World War III, and more," Trump's post continued.

He added in a different TRUTH Social post that no other president has faced lawfare and weaponization "directly out of the Office of a Political Opponent."
