Trump quips he'll drop 'lethargic' label for Bill Barr after ex-AG endorses him
"Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word “Lethargic” from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!" Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.
Former President Donald Trump responded to former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr's endorsement, saying he won't refer to him as "lethargic" anymore.
"Wow! Former A.G. Bill Barr, who let a lot of great people down by not investigating Voter Fraud in our Country, has just Endorsed me for President despite the fact that I called him 'Weak, Slow Moving, Lethargic, Gutless, and Lazy' (New York Post!)," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social late Wednesday night.
"Based on the fact that I greatly appreciate his wholehearted Endorsement, I am removing the word 'Lethargic' from my statement. Thank you Bill. MAGA2024!" the post continued.
Earlier this week, Barr indicated he would support his former boss because he's more concerned about the "far left" than Trump being a threat to America.
During a Fox News interview, Barr admitted he does have issues with how Trump handled the 2020 election, but won't support President Joe Biden's campaign.
He added that, while he was dissatisfied with the Trump-Biden rematch, he felt he had a "duty" to pick the person "who will do the least harm to the country," which he contended was Trump and a Republican administration.
"The threat to our country is from the far-left and the drive that’s been occurring toward really a socialistic system and one that brooks no opposition, that cancels people," Barr asserted.
