Trump slams Musk again: "I could have said, 'drop to your knees and beg,' and he would have done it"
The two have been feuding since Trump called Musk "another bull**** artist" at his Alaska rally over the weekend
Former President Donald Trump on Tuesday continued in his feud against Elon Musk by posting on his platform Truth Social that the Tesla CEO would have done anything for the former president when they met at the White House.
The two have been feuding since Trump called Musk "another bull**** artist" at his Alaska rally over the weekend. Musk responded to the former president Monday by saying he should "hang up his hat & sail into the sunset."
Trump's most recent criticism came shortly after Twitter announced it was suing Musk to force him to purchase the social media company.
"When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, 'drop to your knees and beg,' and he would have done it," Trump said.
Trump also posted a photo of Musk with him in the Oval Office, which may have been from their 2017 meeting, the only public White House meeting between the two.
"Now Elon should focus on getting himself out of the Twitter mess because he could owe $44 billion for something that’s perhaps worthless. Also, lots of competition for electric cars!" the former president followed up.
"P.S., Why was Elon allowed to break the $15 million stock purchase barrier on Twitter without any reporting? That is a very serious breach! Have fun Elon and @jack, go to it!" he concluded.
Musk faces a Securities and Exchange Commission investigation for his purchase without properly reporting.
