Trump's Valentine's Day card to wife Melania garners tens of thousands of campaign donations
"If you love Melania, I humbly ask you for you to leave her some kind words below!" Trump states.
Former President Donald Trump's campaign is using his Valentine's Day card to his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, to garner donations, and tens of thousands of contributions have been made so far.
The Trump Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, which is raising money on behalf of Trump's presidential campaign and his Save America PAC, published the former president's Valentine's Day letter to Melania and is inviting donors to "send her your love" as well.
"Dear Melania, I LOVE YOU! Even after every single INDICTMENT, ARREST, and WITCH HUNT, you never left my side. You’ve always supported me through everything," Trump wrote the Valentine's Day letter to his wife that the committee published. "I wouldn’t be the man I am today without your guidance, kindness, and warmth. You will always mean the world to me, Melania!"
The end of the letter states: "If you love Melania, I humbly ask you for you to leave her some kind words below!"
The page then includes a space where users can send a personalized message to the former first lady, but a donation must be made in order to send a message.
As of 10:30 a.m. Eastern, the page shows more than 86,300 donations have been made while the goal stands at 100,000 responses.
