Biden says he's willing to debate Trump, but offers no timeline
During a radio appearance on Howard Stern's program, Biden said he would participate in a debate with Trump but that no date had been selected.
President Joe Biden on Friday said he was willing to debate former President Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential contest as the pair appear poised for a rematch in November.
During a radio appearance on Howard Stern's program, Biden said he would participate in a debate with Trump but that no date had been selected.
"I am, somewhere. I don’t know when, but I am happy to debate him," he said, according to The Hill.
Neither Trump nor Biden debated their primary challengers this cycle, leading to some speculation that the pair would not appear on stage with one another during the contest. A string of news outlets this month urged the two to commit to doing so.
The Trump campaign, this month, asked the Commission on Presidential Debates to schedule the debates earlier in the news cycle, saying that the panel "must move up the timetable of its proposed 2024 debates to ensure more Americans have a full chance to see the candidates before they start voting, and we would argue for adding more debates in addition to those on the currently proposed schedule."
