Brian Kemp takes a jab at Trump, saying he opposed re-opening Georgia in 2020 during the pandemic
"While he listened to Fauci & parroted media talking points, I listened to hardworking Georgians," Kemp wrote.
Georgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp took a shot at former President Donald Trump's recent comments about not complying if COVID-19 mandates and shutdowns are reinstated.
"The fact is former president Trump led the opposition to my decision to reopen Georgia — the first state in the country to do so," Kemp wrote on X, the platform previously called Twitter, Saturday.
"While he listened to Fauci & parroted media talking points, I listened to hardworking Georgians," Kemp continued. "He may not remember, but I sure as hell do."
The Georgia governor was responding to a video of Trump posted by The Daily Caller.
"To every COVID tyrant who wants to take away our freedom — Hear these words: WE WILL NOT COMPLY. So, don't even think about it," Trump said in the video.
There have been rumors speculating about potential COVID-19 mask mandates returning, but as of now, the Biden White House has not announced anything.
