'Celebration of America': Vance hits back at rally comparisons to Nazi gathering

"All they have is hatred of fellow citizens and on number November the fifth, I don't want us to just elect Donald J Trump the president United States. I want us to reject Kamala Harris and a ridiculous name calling over actual governance," he said.

Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance on Monday pushed back against comparisons between Sunday evening's Trump rally at Madison Square Garden and a 1939 Nazi rally at the same venue.

The comparison was prominent among left-wing media and Democratic operatives in the leadup to and aftermath of the event.

"I was in Madison Square Garden last night with the President, and we had well over 100,000 people between those inside and those outside," he said at a rally in Wausau, Wisconsin. "And they were, you know, fired up. It was a celebration of America."

"And you know what, Kamala Harris and her team woke up this morning and decided to compare it to they decided to compare us to literal Nazis for gathering in Madison Square Garden and celebrating the United States of America," he went on. "These are the same people, of course, who call us racists for wanting to secure the southern border."

"They're the same people who have no plans, no ideas and no solutions," he went on. "All they have is hatred of fellow citizens and on number November the fifth, I don't want us to just elect Donald J Trump the president United States. I want us to reject Kamala Harris and a ridiculous name calling over actual governance."
