Chris Christie gets booed at Faith and Freedom Coalition conference
"You can boo all you want," came the former governor's retort.
Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie earned boos from a crowd at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's Road to Majority conference on Friday after criticizing former President Donald Trump.
Christie, a former New Jersey governor, has thrown his hat into the ring for the Republican nomination and has generated headlines for his unrestrained criticism of the race's frontrunner.
"Why am I running for president of the United States? I’m running because [Trump’s] let us down. He has let us down because he’s unwilling — he’s unwilling to take responsibility for any of the mistakes that were made," he said, per The Hill. The remark earned considerable boos from the crowd.
