Michigan Democratic Rep. Slotkin announces divorce from husband
The pair met while in Iraq in 2009 and later married in 2011.
Michigan Democratic Rep. Elissa Slotkin announced that she and her husband would seek a divorce.
"After careful consideration, we are saddened to announce that we are divorcing after 12 years of marriage. We've reached this decision together after much reflection and we do it on agreeable terms," Slotkin and her husband, Dave Moore, told the Detroit Free Press over the weekend.
The pair met while in Iraq in 2009 and later married in 2011.
Slotkin has been in office since winning election in 2018 and is a rumored Senate candidate to replace retiring Michigan Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
Her divorce is not connected to a prospective Senate bid, according to the DFP, which cited "a source close to Slotkin."
