Colorado Democrat Sen. Bennet held up final vote on stopgap bill over Ukraine aid, report
All 100 Senate members must consent to schedule a vote.
Colorado Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet reportedly held up for hours the final vote on the House stopgap spending bill over the lack of aid to Ukraine.
CNN reported that Bennet was concerned about the lack of aid to Ukraine in the bill and the Senate is attempting to work on a statement to show their support for the country in hopes of resolving the issue.
All 100 Senate members must consent to schedule a vote. Eventually, the Senate did proceed to a vote, but approve the spending bill and send it to President Joe Biden, who signed it into law.
